Background

I was born in Toronto, Canada to parents from Bangalore, India and Nairobi, Kenya. I hold 2.5 citizenships (USA, Canada, Overseas Citizen of India). I grew up in Free Acres, Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, where my childhood was spent exploring the woods and causing mischeif around the neighborhood. I studied at Franklin and Marshall College with Dr. Dorothy Merritts and at Boston College with Dr. Noah P. Snyder. I currently work with Dr. John D. Bolten at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

Hobbies and Interests

I am a life long learner who is always developing new skills and refining old ones. I have a passion for applying knowledge to help others, especially in scenarios of disasters and humanitarian relief. I enjoy public speaking and have delivered public addresses to audiences since serving as middle school salutatorian. I believe that regular exercise is a recipe for a sound mind, and enjoy hiking, bicycling, running, lifting and pickup sports (basketball, tennis, squash). I play the guitar and piano and appreciate music of all kinds. I read novels voraciously and in thematic bursts, and admire the writings of Vonnegut, Hemmingway, Michael Lewis and others. I'm slowly turning into a decent cook and a morning person. I have traveled to 5 continents and intend to make it to all of them some day...
